Physical security is a top priority for our customer, a global software enterprise with 80 offices worldwide. Given the company’s extensive global reach, security incidents are not uncommon and can pose significant threats to property, assets, and the safety of their employees.
In the aftermath of such an incident, it is crucial to quickly trace the incident’s trajectory, enabling prompt action and the implementation of additional security measures to minimize the risk of further exposure. This enterprise customer recently experienced a security breach on their headquarters’ premises, where an unauthorized person gained access.
Considering the fact that this is a newly developed and newly secured site, this incident showed the customer that current safety measures were not effective, meaning they were exposed and vulnerable.

Previously, reviewing footage from multiple cameras would take several days as operators manually analyzed recordings. On average, operators spend 2-3 days reviewing extensive camera footage. With Ambient’s Forensics tool, the process now takes minutes, resulting in a 20x faster investigation.

Natural language search
Advanced Forensics is natively integrated into the Ambient platform, eliminating the need to jump between various systems. Customers easily search for events using simple terms like “person presence” and “person entering”. They also use our advanced search functionality ‘similarity search’ to easily find and identify a person or object across all streams.
There are powerful filter capabilities built-in, allowing searches through any camera stream at any location and time. We recently enhanced the Forensics search functionality with the ability to add ‘attributes’ to a search. Attributes can be clothing color, backpacks, or laptops, for example.
In just minutes, events and individuals being investigated can be pinpointed and found, leading to faster resolution and increased probability of apprehending perpetrators and recovering valuable assets.
Implementing Ambient globally has significantly reduced this customer’s risk by live alerting through the Ambient system and integrating Ambient’s built-in forensics capability into their workflow.
This has resulted in the implementation of effective new policies and procedures, enhancing their global security posture, and driving a cultural change in their employees for greater and awareness. Ambient’s Advanced Forensics was the key factor in locating the whereabouts of the perpetrator quickly.
