Proactive security in a reactive world

At 12 years old, Shikhar Shrestha became the victim of an armed robbery. A security camera monitored the area — but what was the use? He expected a patrol officer to intervene, yet nothing happened.

From there, Shikhar became aware of how reactive physical security truly is. There’s too much activity to monitor and too few people to monitor it all. Deploying security cameras is just not enough to ensure real-time responses when incidents occur.

Shikhar went on to study at Stanford, where he met Vikesh Khanna. In 2017, after conceptualizing a solution to transform physical security’s reactive nature, they founded Ambient.ai.
